Modify default side bar content on pages and posts

1) Where do I change what shows on the side bar. For instance I would like to get rid of the "meta" section.

2) On the contact page template I would like the entire side bar gone. How do I do that?

Regarding your first issue, i.e. to remove meta section...

You can easily remove that section from widget field of your dashboard, you just all need to do is drag and drop the widget options like: Text widget in "primary and secondary widget area"(Dashboard=>Appearance=>Widget) of your dashboard and keep them blank..

For the second issue, i.e. On the contact page template I would like the entire sidebar gone

Please follow the screenshot given below.




For your information, I am using "WP-Editor" plugin to edit files.

You can also download and use it from the link https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-editor/.

After activating this plugin, you will get the same screen as shown in the screenshot.
