How can I hide some of the front page sections?

Hi,
So I do not want to use all of the sections on the front page (but I like most of them), how can I hide the blog section or the "happy clients section"?
I went to the html code and searched to find "happy clients" and found where it is located but I don't have a clue how to hide it so that section does not show up. I would like to know how to do any of them. Please don't just give me the code to hide the Client section...IF POSSIBLE I would like to see how I can tell how to hide other sections if possible.
