Removing Testimonials & Gallery Sections

Temporarily I need to remove some sections. I was able to remove Contact section following a thread here, but what I read for removing Testimonials and Gallery isn't working.

Can you repeat what I need to do to remove them from the Home Page. Thanks.

 

Ok I got the css code to remove testimonials and it worked. But still having one issue removing gallery with code found here. It removed the gallery section on home page, but it left the initial gray rectangle sample photo on the home page that says....."this is the default gallery image. You can insert images and delete it." How do I get rid of that from home page?

 

OK this is handled, had to get CSS info from 3 different threads and combine.
