You need to do two things.

    1) Go to Geocraft Settings > Google map > Map Centre Location and enter your location. I enter mine as: 'Boston, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom' and click 'Save all changes'

    2) Go to Appearance >? Editor > map_search.php and scroll down to find the line under 'var myoptions {' which says zoom:
Mine is set to zoom: 10, but adjust the number to give the zoom level that suits your locality. Update the file!

You should find that this give a entered zoom level that you are looking for on the map. You may need to reset any cache that you have running to see the effect immediately.

Good luck as I can't get the map to work properly on my site.
