Hello Katie,

header.php file is responsible for the header section of the website.
It is located in the theme directory.

You can edit header.php file through FTP.
Open your Theme directory (through FTP) > header.php file.
Download header.php file from there, Edit it,
Then again upload it.

He has advised me that this process is really only for a Developer to complete and, after attempting this complex protocol for several hours, I must agree with his assessment.
