Recent post not updating on the Home page

I have not posted on my blog for awhile and when I did it didn't update on the home page. I have my 5 most recent posts and every time except for now they automatically list on the recent post section. I have tried for a couple of hours and had no success in getting the post on the home page. My site is www.travelbunyip.com
I know the most recent post is there as it is in my categories the only one listed for 2017. See them on the bottom right corner of the home page. The heading for my last post is "It's been awhile".
Any suggestions??

just tried to do as you said and it failed. See the attached photo for the message. Anything else that you can suggest?

 

I have done exactly as you said and updated the theme. Unfortunately it has reverted the website to the form that it was 4 years ago. NOt very happy. It has not solved the problem but has completely reverted the site to a previous form. How can I fix this mess?
