add short exerpt on the home page

I was wondering if there is a way to add short exerpt to the "recent posts" section on the home page.

Andrina theme already have this feature.
Please check link given below. Front page already contain short excerpt for the recent post.

Hello Kim,

You are using Chinese language that's why this issue is occurring.
Excerpt count number of words and then show them. Theme's excerpt is set to 33 words.
chinese language don't have space, that's why excerpt counting whole text as a single word.

So do one thing give space between your post text. Just separate 4 5 words.
And then open "front-page.php" file and set excerpt value to 4 as shown in the image.

Thank you for your advice.

Yes,I use Japanese characters.
I solved the problem with the reference and advice of you.
I used the the_excerpt() function in place of the inkthemes_custom_trim_excerpt() function.
So,It was displayed beautifully in Japanese .
