Why always be a “PERFECTIONIST” ?
According to the quote of “Mike Litman”-
“You don’t have to get it right; you just have to get it doing”
This is really an inspiring thought which should be implemented in life. Perfectionism prevents us from being things done. All of us wants to be a perfectionist, because our passion to achieve our target or goal, and fear to fail in that task makes perfectionism born. We also do not enjoy ourselves after completing our task, if we always run towards perfectionism.
Instead of this, give yourself credit to what you have accomplished. Live and work on your own terms.
This doesn’t imply that you should release garbage and be satisfied with it. But it does mean that you should get it out, so that it is “good enough” at the initial stage. Later tweaks and improvements can be done in it as you go along.
You should make the things done and if there are problems then your users will tell you, this feedback will let you to begin making small changes and it can be easily done once it is out there.
Feeling of perfectionism always creates low self esteem and self criticism, because a perfectionist is never happy with what is done.
Here are top 5 ways to avoid this habit:
- Keep your standards high but Have real expectations.
- Accept that mistakes are part of our life.
- Nothing is wrong in taking help.
- Focus on the current stage.
- Make deadlines to finish the jobs and move on to something else.
Accept that perfectionism doesn’t exist and then you will be happier, creative and productive. If you are not failing chances are that you are not trying hard enough. Remember faults are what make a handmade work more valuable, than a factory made replica.
