Don’t Set Blind Goals
Never set your goals too much ahead of time. Setting a goal that’s too far in advance puts blinders on your way.
Goal setting must be SMART- Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant Time-bound.
Many of you set the goals for 3, 5 or 10 years too, which can rarely be achieved. The reason behind this is you don’t know what changes are going to happen during the journey.
No doubt you should set your goals before initiating any action because goals focus your attention towards your tasks. A person without any goals always diffuses his energy in multiple objectives.
Before setting your goals be sure that-
- Whether they are correct or not.
- never set too many goals.
- Always set appropriate time horizons for every goal.
Remember never relate your goals with your dreams and hopes. It may be possible that your dream someday comes true so always have a dream, but obsessing over them will give harm more than good.
If you set a blind goal, you will blind yourself to other opportunities you might stagger upon. It’s a poisonous way of thinking and you should avoid it.
Setting your goal and working towards it is not an easy task, it’s a challenge. Thus your goals should be reasonable enough so that you can achieve them.
Once your goal is set real and in a correct approach automatically you will go where the stream will take you and everything will flow naturally.
Here are some easy tips to set the goals that are easily attainable-
- Exist in present not in past or future.Evaluate the value of time.
- You cannot control the future so just set “right now goals”.
- Accept to achieve your goals you need to suffer and sacrifice also.
