Looking at some of the websites mentioned in this forum, I saw a couple that had a Testimonial Widget running in the footer and /or side bar. How do I get that widget or set up one of the existing to accomplish this.

You can use Easy Testimonials plugin, download it from WordPress.org and upload it.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-testimonials/
